Illustration of a white girl with lavender eyes and Heidi braids, wearing a blue dress covered in white spiral patterns. The girl's skirt flows around her and her arms are outstretched, as purple, white and blue ribbons swirl around her like butterfly wings. Behind her, a lilac and sky blue background is covered in a tracery of translucent white spirals and floral patterns.

Magical

by Toni Scott

This digital artwork was created by Toni specifically to honour the International Awareness Month for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), Fibromyalgia (FM), and other chronic neuro-immune diseases. Toni explains, “[this piece shows] a magical girl representing both ME/CFS and Fibro and sporting the representative colours” – blue for ME, and purple for fibromyalgia.

Toni Scott (he/him) is a non-binary illustrator from Vancouver, BC. He has been living with ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia since 2019. He was the illustrator for the Chargimals and through them has worked to bring education and advocacy to the disability and chronic illness community for three years. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Toni has been working as a freelance illustrator and lives with his Husky mix, Koda.

Love Toni’s work? We’re thrilled to offer merch featuring one of his designs, with 100% of proceeds supporting the ME | FM Society of BC!
