Opportunities
Auditions
If you’d like to be notified about future Opera Mariposa auditions and opportunities, you can sign up for our e-newsletter; we are also open to receiving digital materials on a rolling basis. (Please note that due to the ongoing pandemic, we are not currently auditioning artists in person.) Project-specific submission requirements and accessibility information will always be listed in each audition call. For general submissions, you can email a headshot, resume, and one or more recordings to info@operamariposa.com to be considered for future opportunities.
Other opportunities
Are you an emerging or underrepresented creator or production team member who would like to be considered for future projects – or someone who’s interested in working with emerging and underrepresented artists? Please sign up for our newsletter to hear about what we’re working on next. You can also get in touch directly if you have any questions or to submit materials.
Volunteers
If you’re interested in volunteering with Opera Mariposa, you can discover our range of remote/contactless volunteer opportunities here. Volunteers can benefit from training and networking opportunities, as well as receiving letters of reference and documentation of volunteer hours upon request.
Equity
Opera Mariposa recognizes that deep systemic inequities exist in the arts world, and we must actively work to redress them. As one small part of this, we strongly encourage those from systemically-excluded groups to apply for all available opportunities, and to share needs for access and cultural safety at any time. Note that while we are a disability-run company, we are excited to work with arts practitioners of all abilities and backgrounds.
Accessibility
As a disability-run company, Opera Mariposa is committed to the ongoing work of improving accessibility in our spaces, programming, and communications. You can find our evolving accessibility policy here. If you have questions or if there is something that would enable you to more fully participate as an applicant, arts practitioner or audience member, we encourage you to get in touch here or through our anonymous contact form.
Safety
Our first priority will always be the safety and wellbeing of our artists, team members, patrons and community. We regard safety as a collective responsibility – you can read our current Covid-19 policy here, and find our anti-harassment policy here. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions for improvement, we encourage you to get in touch. If there are matters you prefer to address privately, you can reach out anytime through our anonymous contact form.
