Blue Sunday (2024)

In honour of Opera Mariposa’s 2024 Benefit + Awareness Month, Rana created this very special design to recognize Blue Sunday, also known as the Tea Party for M.E. This worldwide virtual tea party is meant to raise funds and awareness for ME/CFS in a way that’s accessible for as many people as possible – including chronically ill people who are homebound, bedbound and/or shielding.

Rana’s teapot design cleverly includes forget-me-nots, a flower often used to represent the need to not forget ME. If you’d like to participate in Blue Sunday, learn more here, and save the date for Sunday, May 19th, 2024!

Rana (she/her) is a self-taught Black disabled artist living in upstate New York. She creates art inspired by her journey with chronic illness, self love, and mental health. Rana lives with fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, chronic pain syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and chronic gastritis, and has been creating digital art since 2019 when she became disabled. She makes her living as an artist offering digital art commissions for portraits, logos, music covers and more, in addition to selling her designs as stickers and teaching classes on using Procreate. She is excited to join Opera Mariposa in raising awareness for fibromyalgia and other chronic illnesses!
